Surf's Up Bedroom

Our eldest daughter loves the water! We live near the beach so surfing and skimboarding are a part of her active lifestyle... so when we thought about giving her a bedroom update...

Naturally, a surfing theme came to mind...first, we painted the walls Benjamin Moore's Clearest Ocean Blue...

Snagged a lamp at The Christmas Tree Shop for $3.00...

Googled "Surf accessories" in Amazon and came up with this great paddle for less than $14.00...

Moved the white chest against the blue walls...

Found this fabulous window treatment online ...it's like a hoola skirt!

And suddenly the room came together! Her bedding was another find on Amazon...I literally searched "surfer girl bedding" and this comforter set came up...

The whole project was not crazy expensive and done mostly online at Amazon. Simple! She loves it and mostly, it reflects who she is...a sporty surfer girl! :0)

Lovely room. It is such fun to decorate with a theme. You did a nice job. I love Benjamin Moore paints. The entire interior of our house is "Man in the Moon" yellow.

This is what I love, getting stuff which are not expensive but totally awesome looking. You can hardly get such here. Love, love and love the blue and white theme. My girls are into their early teens and soon will want something different for their room too. Happy week ahead Tara, much love...M

ahhh, what a fabulous job ya'll have done on the surfer girl room. I LOVE IT ! That color of blue is so pretty. I know she smiles every time she walks into this room.

I have been so far behind in my visiting, I need to go back and read some of your older posts..
Trying to get caught up.

I love it Tara! That color blue is so pretty and goes so well with her white furniture, and all the decorative accessories are perfect. I've been looking for a lamp exactly like that for my guest bedroom -- wish there was a Christmas Tree Shop in Brooklyn!

I love the water too! Your daughter's room is wonderful! I used to admire a set like this in Pottery Barn Kids but it was so spendy I never bought it. It was more of a set for boys and I would have loved to do my son's room. It sounds like you got some really great deals.

Have a terrific weekend!
