Chunky Cheesecake Brownies

Back in February, Karla of Karla's Cottage and Beth of Gathering Dust put together a wonderful goodie cookbook which I participated in. I have made a few recipes from it and here's another keeper from Cheryl of From the Pines! Of course, I'll share with you! This one is:

Chunky Cheesecake Brownies

1 pkg. softened cream cheese

3/4 c. sugar

3 eggs

1 pkg. choc chips

1/4 c. butter

2/3 c. flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

In bowl, beat cream cheese with 1/4 c. sugar and 1 egg till smooth: set aside. In separate bowl, melt 1 c. chocolate with butter. Stir in remaining 1/2 c. sugar and 2 eggs until well blended. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt. Pour 1/2 of chocolate mixture into greased 8-9" square pan. Stir remaining choc chips into cream cheese mixture, pour evenly over mixture in pan, top with remaining choc mixture. With knife, swirl layers to marble. Bake in 350 degree oven 25-30 min. cool, cut into bars.

One of these, a large glass of milk and a Sunday afternoon of Giants and Jets football...I still do not think I am over the euphoria!

Hi Tara!

Thanks so much for the welcome back! I missed you too!

I read all your posts that I missed while away and enjoyed seeing more of your lovely home, felt sadness but pride reading about Patrick, and I loved your post about happiness.

I have to admit that when I saw these brownies I slapped my hand over my eyes and would not look at the recipe because I overindulged while on vacation and all my hard work to lose a few pounds went to waste. So it's back on the treadmill and NO DESSERTS ---at least not until next vacation ...lol!

Hope you're enjoying your new school year!

Hugs, Pat

Oh my goodness, Tara sweetie what are you doing to me?! These look absolutely delicious but I am going to fight the temptation to make them because I am trying to loose a little winter weight for this summer. Oh but I am weak, and chocolate is my undoing! Argh! lol
