Hammock Time & A Great Film

Have a great Sunday with you and yours! I'll be hanging in my hammock waiting for the Oscars! If you have not rented the movie ONCE with Glenn Hansard and Marketa Irglova run to a rental store today before the Oscar ceremony.

This low budget independent Irish film is about a struggling Dublin musician who meets a talented, musical Ukranian woman. They collaborate on a demo tape with which the young man will pursue his dreams of obtaining a recording contract in London.

The film's song is up for BEST SONG and will be performed tonight by the duo. Such a poignant story! The budget for this film is so low the 2 are not even staying at a Hollywood hotel --but rather a friend's house! I'm buying the soundtrack as soon as I can...the music is beautifully haunting!

Someone on PBS (Charlie Rose, I think) recommended that movie. But I had completely forgotten about it.

Thank you for the memory jogger.

Thanks for the recommendation! I love movies like this one,and I'll try to rent it as soon as I can. The song was enchanting -- I hope it wins! I heard the "Juno" soundtrack was very popular too.
I've visited Ireland twice, and love it! Dublin is an interesting city. I hope to blog about it around St Paddy's Day.
Have a good week back at school! My daughter is observing a class for the firts time tomorrow.
