7 Weird Things Saturday

I’ve been tagged to play 7 Weird Things about Myself by Karen from A Scrapbook of Inspiration. I did this recently, but you know what? I quickly put together 7 weird things about me! It’s funny how the quirky parts of yourself are easy to list! I love reading these lists from others because you really find out funny things! So here goes:

1. I love American Idol. So much so, I will push any child I gave birth to out of the way in front of the TV just to get a better seat for viewing!

2. I do not like crowds. Once, in college, my husband and I went to a concert and we were separated. I could not find him anywhere in the stadium until I remembered he was in a loud clothing stage of his life and I just had to look for bright colors—I found him!

3. I need a new toothbrush every month.

4. When I go to a restaurant I try to sit with my back to other tables because I have a bad habit of “food watching”. Some people “people watch”, I keep checking out what everyone else around me has ordered!

5. Love cashews. If there is a bag in the house I will not be happy until I devour every one!

6. I have my grandmother’s 1971 Kitchen Aid mixer. It’s a workhorse and I will not part with it! It’s brown—the “in” color of the 70s! People ask me why I do not get a new one. My grandmother was baker extraordinaire—if it worked for her, it’s fine for me!

7. As I get older, I am somewhat loving winter. You never would have heard that from me even 5 years ago. But I am beginning to appreciate the limits it puts on life...it is a natural slow down!
That's fun to compile! Dear blogger friend, please consider yourself tagged and try this!

Oh these weird things are adorable. I was given my grandmother's pot she made potroast in, but try as I might, I can' make her gravey. Winter, I love it too, it gives me an excuse to stay inside and create. Have a lovely weekend. Blessings, Karen

Tara, I'm with you on nearly everything...especially the cashews...same with boiled peanuts...don't care for crowds, it's hereditary...have always loved winter, more time to read. I love American Idol and have always wondered why Clay lost...this year I find the contestants the best and some so sad...it was a great read!

Tara, You may have hit the nail on the head why I love winter, besides thinking snowstorms are romantic! It is the "Sloe Down" time as you said!! I betcha that mixer holds such fond memories inaddtion to being a workhorse too! I recieved a pink one last year and i hope to have it a very long time!! Take care, Lori P.S. Am adding you to my favorite places list!

Hi Tara,
So much fun getting to know you better:>) Can't believe your grandmothers mixer still works! Can't say I share your appreciation for winter but, it does slow us down. I am just catching up with my blogs today and had to check yours. Always a pleasure!

I have a 1973 Kitchenaid Mixer that fortunately is white. It has been a workhorse all these years and still works like a charm. I heard Martha say that you have to have them reconditioned every 10 years and have the brushes in the motor cleaned...who knew??
