Touring the Livingroom

How exciting! Laura from Art from Trails End has bestowed me with the You Make My Day Award! She says a visit here is definitely like being asked in for tea. I’d like to think that’s the whole idea of my blog! What a lovely compliment! Thank you!

Hope you'll come with me as I tour the livingroom in my banner! This is my wrought iron end table next to my couch. A bargain at Marshall’s for $30.00.

I bought this lamp at an estate sale when visiting a relative in Greenwich, CT. I loved the colors and playfulness of it. I’ve been inspecting it and see it was made in France! I had no idea! By Les Hurets, who turns out to be designer Veronique Panzer Les Haurets. This company, from Ordon, France, closed in 2000. I googled both but I’m at a dead end!? I wonder who she was? Regardless, I just love the way it looks.

Lastly, a family Bible underneath… My husband’s uncle was a much loved priest who married us and christened our children. When he passed, we were given the Bible he used at mass. It has beautiful reproductions of Master artworks…and lots of “cheat sheet” notes our uncle wrote to himself for his homilies! I love reading these! So endearing!

Congrats on the awrd...well deserved! Don't you love it when you get something while out thrifting and then finding out it's got a special something?? I am getting ready for a Yard SAle and while sorting came across the sweetest picture that I had gotten a while back. Upon closer inspection, appears to be an original drawing...but, information is in French and now I'm stumped!! Pictures are posted...come on over and see if you can help figure it out!

The bible is lovely and a wonderful family treasure complete with the notes. And I admire that you display it. Too often we keep these goodies put away for safe keeping.
