Breakfast In Bed

In the spirit of the forthcoming elections, I am on a new campaign. But it's not what you think...I am on a campaign to serve people in my home Breakfast in Bed. Think about it: this is basically the same meal you would have at the kitchen table, but someone is bringing it to you, rousing you lovingly, fluffing the pillows behind your back, asking if you need anything else...

So far, my campaign has been highly successful. Being the earliest riser in the house right after me, my little one will sneak into the kitchen to see if it is her turn, and, if it is, run back under the covers and shut her eyes tight! My eldest daughter gives me a true smile, something you do not see from a teenager before 10 a.m. My college son thinks this is the royal treatment after throwing a cereal bar down his throat in his dorm.

For my husband? It is paradise. I make him My Big Fat Greek Frittata from Pam Anderson's great cookbook, Recipes For Having People Over.

It's made with eggs, spinach, feta...so delicious with a big cup of java. The recipes in this book easily feed a family of 5 with leftovers... this book has become my favorite. (It's on my Shelfari, on sidebar).

Therefore I suggest, in the spirit of campaigning, begin your own campaign of Breakfast in Bed! It sets my husband into such a comfy feeling of loving his home and family, his spirits are like this:

And did I mention it's the same breakfast I would have put on the kitchen table?? Hee-hee! Funny how it all looks different on a tray!

Oh gosh Tara -- can I sleep over sometime? I haven't had breakfast in bed since my kids did it once for Mother's Day long ago! I'd love that!

My hubby makes the best fritattas! Hmmm.... maybe I should tell him about your idea since he's the early riser in our house? :-))

Hugs, Pat

That is so sweet. I've never even thought of actually serving breakfast in bed. I just thought the trays were for decoration. :)Kidding. Actually I do bring my hubby his coffee in bed. I'm a spring out of bed kind of girl and he likes to sit in the dark for awhile. Thanks for opening my eyes to a loving thing to do.

What a wonderful loving thing to do and not even for a special occasion but just because!

Tara, I hadn't been here in awhile and I scrolled down to catch up. I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. I read your post about the three signs and cried all the way through it - wonderfully written.
I hope your heart has found some peace.
