The Yard is Complete!

What a transformation! My husband has been toiling away this past weekend and we were all in the act helping out. You remember my husband made a decision to change things in our boring yard here. He said we’d get everything fully grown so it would feel like it was years old. Since he was doing it himself, we’d save money which sounded good to me! Well, it looks so GREAT! We ran hose around everything and we are watering carefully...Please take a tour with me!

This flower bed looks great outside our bedroom window...

A rock bed he built around the pool...
And the best part of all! The addition of a screened in porch wasn't in our budget due to college costs, so he bought a gazebo and furniture from Target (the links are pretty close to what we have...)! I think it looks so great! He framed the patio with large aborvitae and it feels like an outdoor room now!
Then he brought home this set from Costco for this tiny little patio we had by the pool...
Here it is from the far view...It looks fabulous, I can't get over it! Is he great or what? I took more shots I'll share with you soon! Here are some daylillies I picked up at Lowe's to add somewhere...

And, of course, I am now looking for a perfect place for the hammock! Or should I now be "Days Missed Under a Gazebo??" Hee-hee!

What a sweet man! I did the same thing. Bought a gazebo from Target about a year and a half ago, had it set up in my courtyard, and it's fantastic! It's weathered very well, even though Clyde the cat likes to nap on top! And I wish I'd bought the Target furniture while I was at it. You will truly enjoy these outdoor rooms! (I'm lovin' the Google Reader!)

Wow it is great! I want to swim in that pool. Yesterday it was 100 degrees with the heat index here. I love the furniture and the gazebo. We are at the same place with those darn college costs too
but your place look terrific!

Tara, your yard looks wonderful, and I love the furniture underneath that gazebo. I think the gazebo adds more interest than a screened in porch would have. Your backyard, well I'll be right over, please make some lemonade. Karen

Oh Tara!
I love everything!! It looks so fabulous and your hubby did a perfect job! He finished just in time to relax for Father's Day too LOL He's gonna need a rest and well deserved. The gazebo is awesome and the trees that make it a more private area are just right. You said he had a vision and it was a good one! Congrats on your new outdoor space. I like it better than a screened in porch!
Hugs, Sherry
I vote for Days Under a Gazebo!

Your man is a keeper! What a nice summer you will have spending it out there! Do you have wireless? I would be out there all the time!
Look for some vintage pots or items to add the "Tara" touch at thrift stores or carry out the color of the cushions on the wicker in accessories.

Hey Tara! Your gazebo and yard are gorgeous. We also have a gazebo in our back yard and it has withstood some pretty severe weather (hurricanes) over the last 3 years. We have just ordered a new "top" for it but it has yet to arrive because apparently it is coming from China and you know what the situation in China is right now! I love all your new patio furniture.

You need to plan a trip south and Rhoda and I will show you some real "southern hospitality"!

Till then...

Judy

Hi Tara, this is fantastic and gorgeous. My husband had been busy trying his hand in gardening, changing here and there, now i've got to get him to have a look at this post and tell him : i want it like this :D

just beautiful..i like to sit under that gazebo and that pool. Is it common for people to have a pool there, over here, only the extremely rich have their own pool. But really, how cool to have all this!!

Wow, how beautiful! Your husband did such a wonderful job. :) I love that gazebo -- it looks like such a comfortable spot. Enjoy!
